Elders Update | April 2026

In April, the elders met to pray for our church family. There are many who are struggling in our midst and we long for God to move in their lives. In truth, this is our longing for everyone, that God’s Holy Spirit would transform our hearts and minds so we see things as Our Heavenly Father sees them and act in obedience with His perfect will.

We spent time discussing a number of topics, including a review of ministry for the first 3 months of the year. Here are the highlights:

There are a number of people who are becoming members and / or being baptized. Praise God for their obedience to His calling.

We also reviewed our finances, which are starting off adequately as we’ve become independent. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Would you please pray with us and consider your involvement as we need more small group leaders as many are seeking to be involved in a small group right now.

We need more mid-week ministry space for our mid-week ministries like women’s bible study and youth. We are actively looking for options.

We spent some time discussing what becoming a disciple of Christ looks like in our context and an outreach philosophy for our church as we seek to reach those around us with the Good News of Jesus.

We identified a process that we will be using to bring on new elders and we will begin that process this fall.

At the end of April, Jonathan and I attended the BC Mennonite Brethren Conference in Kelowna where we were welcomed as a new church alongside 4 other churches from around the province. It was encouraging to hear what God has been doing in these new churches and to hear about opportunities for ministry around our province.
