The elder’s met this month for a final time before the summer break and we began our time in the word and in prayer. We discussed our series in Habakkuk and both the timely nature of this series as well as the continual challenge to trust in God no matter the circumstances. We are grateful to serve a God that not only speaks at all times throughout history but can be relied on no matter what is happening. As many people in our church face hardship, the consistent faithfulness of God is always our refuge.
We are excited to be looking at more baptisms coming up this summer as well as the many ministries that are wrapping up this month. God has been blessing and growing our church in so many ways and it is exciting to see the changes that have gone on. While some of our meeting was taken up in discussing with policies need to be in place in the coming year, we are so grateful for God’s provision and protection over our church. We are excited to see Sports Camp kick off soon as a wonderful means of reaching out into our community. If you want to sign up you can still do so here.
One of the biggest changes that took place this month is our approval from the CRA as a registered charity. This means that beginning now, we are able to receive donations directly to Promontory Community Church. While we are grateful for the help given by the Great Commission Foundation, we are also excited to be able to accept funds directly.
We are asking that anyone who currently has recurring giving set up through GCF to please cancel your giving now and switch over to our new system. You are now able to go online to our website and set up your giving. As well, giving will be available at the Welcome Centre on Sundays through debit, credit, cheque and cash. We are so grateful for your generosity through this time of transition, and we are praising God for his faithfulness in bringing us through. Please join us in the mission God has given to us as a church as we celebrate his goodness. If you have any further questions regarding your giving, please don’t hesitate to ask.
As we head into our summer months, we remember that our true rest is found in God. We pray that this would be a season of blessing and encouragement as we together begin a new series looking into the beauty of God’s word for our world today.
